The Super Eagles of Nigeria will battle perennial rivals Ghana in an age-long West African derby for a place at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
This followed today’s draw in Douala, Cameroon.
Nigeria were one of five seeded teams based on the November 2021 FIFA Rankings, while Ghana were drawn from Pot 2.
The Eagles have appeared in six World Cups, while the Black Stars have featured in three World Cups.
Draw guest Emmanuel Adebayor predicted a tough battle between Nigeria and Ghana.
His counterpart, El Hadji Diouf, backed his home country Senegal and Nigeria to qualify and make an impact at the tournament proper in Qatar.
The final playoffs will be played between March 23 and 29 with Ghana hosting the first leg, while the return game will be in Nigeria.
