The return leg will be played in Ikenne on Sunday with the overall winners advancing to the first round of the competition.
The home team took the lead after 27 minutes.
However, Remo Stars restored parity in the 49th minute, when striker Adams Olamilekan headed home a corner.
It was the first-ever goal on the continent by Remo Stars.
Goalkeeper Bankole Kayode pulled off big saves both in the first and second halves to ensure Remo Stars salvaged a result on the road.
