Taiwo Awoniyi has urged fans to continue to believe in Nottingham Forest after his goals helped them edge a battle of strugglers against Southampton.
Awoniyi scored his first brace in the Premier League for Forest to move out of the relegation zone courtesy of a 4-3 home win over bottom club Southampton.
Awoniyi fired two top-class goals in the 18th and 21st minutes to put the home team in front.
“Thanks for supporting all of us. Keep belief in. You Reds!” the striker tasked the team’s fans.
Interestingly, his last goal before this double was against the same Southampton in January.
He has now scored six goals and provided an assist in 14 starts for Forest.
His club are now three points clear of danger with 33 points from 35 matches.
Forest final three games of the season are – vs Chelsea (away), vs Arsenal (home) and Crystal Palace (away).
