Victor Boniface celebrated his fifth straight Rookie of the Month Award by scoring his 10th in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen to trounce Bochum and end the outgoing year top of the German top league.
The Super Eagles striker came off the bench and almost immediately scored in the 69th minute.
He now has 24 goal involvements in 23 appearances in all competitions for his club this season.
Bayer Leverkusen thus finished the outgoing year sitting proudly on top of the Bundesliga with 42 points from 16 matches.
Defending champions Bayern Munich are second, four points behind the league leaders, but with a game in hand.
