Joe Aribo looks set for the new season in Scotland after he scored a superb goal for Rangers to beat English Championship side Coventry 2-0 in a pre-season friendly.
The exciting midfielder waltzed through a crowded Coventry defence in the 50th minute to put Leon Balogun’s new club ahead.
“Aribo played a super one-two with Morelos before gliding into the area, but before any of the three Coventry players around him could get a tackle in, he’d finished beautifully into the bottom-left corner,” described the official match report by Rangers.
Youngster Calvin Bassey, who has Nigerian roots, was a late sub for Rangers as they rounded up their preparation for the new season ahead of their opening game at Aberdeen.
