Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni is set to soon get a new contract.
Scaloni has been in charge of the Argentina since 2018, with great success. During his time in the position, he has won the Copa America twice, as well as the 2022 World Cup gold medal and the 2026 World Cup silver medal.
Lionel Messi has announced that he is retiring from the national team, but the nation’s other great Lionel looks set to stay for some time to come.
According to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, Scaloni is close to extending his contract with Argentina through the 2030 World Cup.
Former Argentina international Scaloni has never held a head coaching position at a club.
The 48-year-old was given the Argentina job after serving as assistant to the national team and coach of the Argentina U20 team.
