Tolu Arokodare has promised goals for FC Cologne in the German Bundesliga after he joined them on loan from Latvian club Valmiera FC.
“For me, a dream comes true,” an excited Arokodare said after he signed for Cologne.
“I’ve always wanted to play in the Bundesliga. I want to score a lot of goals for FC and develop personally. I’m really looking forward to it. ”
The 19-year-old striker comes from the Latvian first division club Valmiera FC and will play on loan for FC until the end of the season.
The 1.97 metres tall centre-forward has scored 15 goals in 16 games since the beginning of the season in the Virsliga in June.
He had earlier tried to force a transfer to Anderlecht, who had reportedly tabled a bid for him.
“Tolu is a young striker who is capable of development and who has a lot of good qualities: He’s athletic, strong and fast,” remarked Cologne managing director Horst Heldt.
“Of course he will have to get used to the Bundesliga level. The advantage here is that he is in rhythm with the game and comes to us fully motivated.”
