Turkish club Rizespor have announced Aminu Umar will be out of action for at least six months after he underwent surgery following an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.
Former Flying Eagles star Umar was operated on at the Acidadem Fulya Hospital.
The surgeon Omer Taser said the surgery was successful.
This is the player’s biggest injury setback since he moved to Turkey in 2013.
Before the injury, the 25-year-old forward had scored three goals in 18 league appearances.
Rizespor are battling to stay up in the Turkish Super Lig.
