Jerome Akor will hope that his goals win Sogndal promotion back to the top-tier league in Norway with an all-Nigerian shootout at Kongsvinger.
Akor will again come face-to-face with fellow Nigerian striker Shuaibu Ibrahim this weekend as both Norwegian clubs slug it out in this knockout bout.
Akor, 19, has returned from a groin injury that sidelined him for several weeks as Sogndal barely managed to reach the promotion playoffs in sixth place on the table.
“We’re a hopeful we can get a result against Kongsvinger on Saturday and then take it from there,” the Flying Eagles striker told SCORENigeria
“We beat them at our ground and they beat us at their home in the regular season.”
Last season, Sogndal also reached the promotion playoffs only to drop out by the second to the last hurdle.
Akor scored three goals in 12 league appearances in the regular season.
