The tension is again palpable as the Golden Eaglets are set to undergo another round of MRI scan next week to determine their true ages ahead of the U17 World Cup in Brazil.
The team, who have been training in Abuja since last month, are expected to begin another round of age tests next week after coach Manu Garba would have submitted his provisional World Cup squad of 50 players.
A team official informed SCORENigeria: “Coach Manu will submit his 50-man provisional squad for the World Cup on Monday or latest Tuesday.
“It will now be left to the NFF to conduct the MRI scan for the players selected.”
It was further gathered that each test costs 105,000 Naira and results could be known within three days.
The final squad of 21 players will undergo another round of age tests in Brazil before the World Cup kicks off on October 26.
The last MRI scan involving the Eaglets had decimated the core of the team who won the zonal qualifiers in Niger last year September and thus forced coach Manu to draft at short notice a good number of players for the U17 AFCON in Tanzania in April.
The Eaglets are due to soon depart for an invitational tournament in Turkey to be played between September 20 and 28.
