Flying Eagles must rue many missed chances after they could only draw 1-1 with Burkina Faso in their opening group game of the 12th African Games in Morocco today.
The Nigeria U20s took the lead after highly-rated winger Ahmad Ghali of MFM FC off a corner in the 58th minute taken by skipper Abubakar Ibrahim Babawo.
However, they failed to wrap up the game after missing several begging chances and so allowed Burkina Faso to draw level in the 72nd minute.
First-choice goalkeeper Detan Ogundare was also forced out of the encounter no thanks to injury.
The Flying Eagles next game will be against South Africa on Tuesday also at the Stade Hassan Moulay in Rabat.
