RB Leipzig new signing Ademola Lookman is delighted to return to the German Bundesliga side where he played on loan last season.
The 21-year-old forward, who signed a five-year deal from Premier League side Everton, said he will continue from where he stopped last season.
“I am very happy to be back here and would like to continue where I left off in the second half of 2018 for RB Leipzig,” he told the official website of his new club.
“Of course, I am also looking forward to seeing my teammates again and would like to help the team to continue to celebrate great successes.
“Finally I can play again in the Red Bull Arena in front of this great backdrop and the fans.
“And last but not least, I would like to thank God, the fans and RB Leipzig for making my move possible.”
Lookman played on loan for RB Leipzig in the second half of last season scoring five goals and four assists in 11 games.
He has been assigned jersey number 17.
The German club’s sports director Markus Krosche said he is delighted their persistence to sign Lookman paid off.
“We are very pleased that it has worked hard to commit Ademola Lookman. It was a long process altogether, mainly because we would have liked to have him come last summer,” he said.
“But we have been persistent and that has now paid off.
“Ademola has been absolutely convincing during his six-month loan and he will now quickly integrate again and certainly enrich our offensive game with its dynamics even further.”
The Englishman with Nigerian roots has played for England at U19, U20 and U21 levels.
