Terem Moffi, teammates and officials have taken a pay cut at French Ligue 1 club FC Lorient, who are hugely in debts.
The club announced the pay cuts and reduction in contractual bonuses as they are believed to be 25 million Euros in the red no thanks to a failed broadcast deal that has hit the French top league.
Moffi, 21, cost Lorient eight million Euros when he signed from Belgian club KV Kortrijk last summer.
It is reported that 85% of Lorient revenue is from TV rights.
Other Ligue 1 clubs Montpellier, Reims, Strasbourg, Angers and Lens have also agreed salary cuts due to the financial crisis.
