Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has said they hope to activate an option to extend the contract of defender Leon Balogun by a further year.
“Leon Balogun is also someone we want to keep hold of,” Gerrard disclosed.
“He has done well and we have an option on his contract.”
Balogun signed a year’s deal with Scottish giants Rangers in July 2020 as a free agent after he quit Wigan Athletic in England.
Despite some injury problems, the 32-year-old Balogun has made 13 appearances thus far for table-topping Rangers this season.
Balogun has previously played in the German Bundesliga as well as in the Premier League with Brighton.
