Victor Boniface has clinched his first championship winners’ medal in Norway and in the process he and his club Bodo/Glimt have gone into the history books for many reasons.
Bodo/Glimt won 2-1 at Stromgodset Sunday to record an unassailable 68 points ahead of closest rivals and deposed champions Molde FK.
The conquest made Bodo/Glimt the first club from Northern Norway to do so.
They have been crowned champions with still five rounds of matches still to be played till the end of the season.
They have only lost once and drawn twice in 25 league matches this season.
On a personal note, former Flying Eagles striker Boniface has thus far scored six goals in 24 appearances after his first season in Norway was ruined by a long-term injury.
