Belgian champions Club Brugge have dropped Emmanuel Dennis for tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League tie at Borussia Dortmund for “disciplinary reasons”.
Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement said: “He is fit, but he is not in the selection against Dortmund.
“Dennis has broken some rules of the club. That is the only reason. I will not elaborate on his situation further.”
Dennis did not play against KV Kortrijk on Saturday, although that was not surprising in itself.
The winger, who played the closing minutes of the Super Eagles AFCON qualifier in Sierra Leone last week, has been spared from the league to be fresh for the Champions League, which has yielded results with his goals against Real Madrid last season and St. Petersburg this season.
A big-money transfer away from Belgium did not come through for Dennis, whose valuation of around 25 million Euros scared many suitors.
