Orji Okwonkwo has added to the injury woes of Major League Soccer (MLS) side Montreal Impact after he was stretchered off the pitch in his club’s 3-1 loss at New England Revolution.
Okwonkwo, who was voted Montreal Impact Most Valuable Player last season after netting eight goals, was taken off the pitch in the 27th minute after he appeared he have injured his hamstring.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star was replaced by Lassi Lappalainen.
The 22-year-old forward, who is on loan at the Canada-based club from Bologna, has scored a goal in six games this season.
Montreal Impact have the option to buy him on a permanent basis at the end of this season.
