Anti-graft agency EFCC has grilled NFF deputy finance director Abdulkarim Bako over $200,000 (more than 92 million Naira) he personally ferried to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Bako, an accountant, was quizzed Thursday in Abuja.
More senior officials are again due to be grilled in this regard.
It was understood that the money in question did not follow due accounting process right up to when the official handed the cash to one of the vice presidents of the NFF in Russia.
It was further learnt that this sum of money was not captured in the books of the NFF and there is also no record who received the cash in Russia and what it was spent on.
We can also report that a junior accounts staff of the NFF was also drilled by the anti-corruption agency in Abuja on Wednesday as the EFCC stepped up investigations into allegations of brazen corruption at the football federation.
The investigations had been bogged down by the Coronavirus Pandemic and the various restrictions.
