Investigations have again shown that contrary to claims by top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the salaries of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr have long been paid from the Coca-Cola sponsorship fees.
Officials had claimed that Rohr’s salaries for May and June 2020 will be paid from the Coca-Cola cash after sponsors Aiteo reportedly withdrew from footing the salary bill of national team coaches.
However, the records clearly showed that Rohr has since April 30, 2018, been paid by the NFF financial consultants, Financial Derivatives, through their company account 0605712017 domiciled at FCMB Bank.
He was then paid monthly $45,000 and since July 2019, he has been on $55,000 a month after he had agreed a new two-year contract extension.
It would also be recalled that the source of Rohr’s contract was for a long time shrouded in secrecy before it was eventually discovered that Ifeanyi Ubah had for several months bankrolled the pay of the Franco-German coach.
