The Super Falcons have crashed seven places down in the latest FIFA Rankings after their worst-ever WAFCON outing, where they failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time ever.
The 10-time African champions are now the 43rd best women’s team in the world.
The Super Falcons suffered the most points dropped in the period under review – 83.54 points.
However, they remain the highest ranked African team ahead of South Africa (52), reigning African champions Cameroon (62), Morocco (64) and Ghana (65).
Malawi, who shocked the Super Falcons in an opening group game and went all the way to the championship game, enjoyed the biggest jump in the rankings – 49 places.
They are now 104th best team in the world after a fairy tale run on their WAFCON debut in Morocco earlier this year.
