Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was the only player who did not train with the Super Eagles ahead of Friday’s 2027 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar in Uyo.
Media reports have suggested that Okoye has been held back by personal issues.
Otherwise 23 players including late replacement for Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, trained for the first time in Uyo Tuesday night.
Close team watchers have again raised concerns over the late reporting to camp of Maduka Okoye, who is expected to battle recalled Stanley Nwabali for the No 1 shirt for the AFCON qualifiers.
There is a bitter rivalry between the two goalkeepers so much so that Okoye opted out of the 2025 AFCON after coach Eric Chelle could not guarantee him a first-team place.
