Debutants the Scorchers of Malawi tonight made it all the way to the final of the 2026 WAFCON after they stopped Algeria 3-1 in the semifinal.
The Chawinga Sisters, Tabitha and Temwa, set the ball rolling for Malawi with two first-half goals.
Both teams were also reduced to 10 players each after red cards.
They will now take on the winners of the other semifinal between hosts Morocco and Cameroon in Sunday’s final.
All four semifinalists have qualified automatically for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
