Swedish league leaders IK Sirius have contacted former captain Moses Ogbu to return.
Ogbu, 35, left the club after the 2018 season.
Uppsala Nya Tidning reported that Sirius have contacted Ogbu about a possible return.
The Allsvenskan league leaders look set to sell top scorer Robbie Ure, 22, to Spanish side Sevilla, and that is why they are looking for a new striker.
The vastly experienced Nigerian striker spent nine seasons at Sirius during which he helped them to gain promotion to the Swedish top flight.
He has also featured in Saudi Arabia before he returned to Sweden to enjoy more success with Mjallby AIF.
Last season, he netted 11 goals for Chinese second division club Nanjing City FC.
He accounted for 20 goals and six assists in 49 league matches for the club and he is now a free agent after his contract ran out.
