The 31-year-old forward outran the Zambian defence to come face-to-face with the goalkeeper and thanks to a lucky bounce of the ball, Nigeria lead by a goal after a fiesty 45 minutes.
However, the Super Falcons are a player down after defender Tosin Demehin was sent off for a professional foul on the dangerous Barbra Banda just before the break.
Incidentally, this was coming just minutes after VAR had saved her from the same fate after another infringement on the same player, who was eventually adjudged to have been offside.
The Cooper Queens from Zambia will be expected to go all out after the interval of this high-profile contest that has a lot riding on it.
However, the experience and quality of the Nigerians will be expected to get them across the line to revive their hopes of reaching the knockout rounds after the opening stumble against debutants Malawi.
