Ajax are the latest club interested in signing Tolu Arokodare.
This comes against the background of the Super Eagles striker ordered by his club Wolves not to be part of first-team training again.
Consequently, Arokodare is not in the squad for a friendly against Maidenhead United and will not participate in first-team preparations for the remainder of the preseason.
The club have reportedly increased security at the Compton Park training complex to prevent him from rejoining the first team, which makes a transfer seem more probable.
Arokodare has 10 caps and 2 goals for Nigeria, is under contract until June 2029, and has a current market value of €20.00m according to Transfermarkt.
In addition to Ajax, he has been linked with clubs including Fiorentina and Trabzonspor.
In July 2026, reports indicated Fiorentina submitted a loan offer with a €22 million buy clause, while Trabzonspor proposed a similar deal with a €20 million option.
Earlier reports from April 2026 suggested Wolves might accept between €15 million and €18 million. This amount is lower than the club’s reported March 2026 asking price of €25-€30 million.
