CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced today that the winners of this year’s WAFCON will pocket $2 million, twice what the Super Falcons received when they won the delayed 2024 tournament last year.
Beaten finalists will take home $750,000 with all 16 finalists receiving $150,000 each.
The 2026 WAFCON, which will also serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, will kick off Sunday in Morocco.
Defending champions the Super Falcons will open their title defense against Malawi.
They are also drawn against Zambia and Egypt in the first round.
