Left winger Kazeem Olaigbe is again on the move after he completed a loan switch to Swiss side FC Basel from top Turkish team Trabzonspor.
The loan deal includes an option for a permanent transfer.
Last year, Trabzonspor paid French club Rennes five million euros to sign Olaigbe.
However, the former Cercle Brugge winger failed to impress in the first half of the season and was loaned out to Konyaspor in recent months.
He now hopes yo relaunch his career in Switzerland.
“FC Basel is a big club with a long tradition and a reputation for developing young players,” he said in an official media statement.
“With my technique and creativity, I want to help the team with assists and goals. I can’t wait to play at St. Jakob-Park and hope to please the supporters with my performance.”.
Andreas Herrmann, his new technical director, shared that enthusiasm: “Kazeem will enrich our attacking game thanks to his speed, his efficiency in one-on-one situations, and his versatility.
“We see him as a high-quality player with great potential.
“His career has not gone as we had hoped recently, but we are convinced that he will find the ideal conditions with us to launch a new career.”
