Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has added more fuel to speculations about the future of Victor Osimhen by saying he has left out the Galatasaray striker from friendlies against Poland and Portugal because he could be changing clubs and therefore he will not be fully focused in those matches.
Osimhen is again widely reported to make a major transfer this summer from Turkish champions Galatasaray and as such has been linked to various top clubs across Europe – from Real Madrid to Barcelona and PSG.
Eric Chelle said the star striker will therefore need to sort out his future around this time.
“Osimhen, maybe he changes clubs, so I prefer he stays out and not play when you’re not 100% (for the Super Eagles), that’s not good,” he opened up at a media briefing.
Osimhen will be one of several top stars to miss these friendlies, but the Super Eagles coach has remained bullish about his team’s chances.
“We go to make a fight,” he vowed.
“We win, we win. If we lose, we lose, but they have to beat us to win these games.
“I want to beat them in their own country because I am sad I don’t go to the World Cup, that will be something good for me.”
