DR Congo have replaced Scotland-based defender Rocky Bushiri on their final World Cup squad after he suffered an injury.
The 26-year-old Hibernian defender was out of his final day game with a suspected Achilles injury.
The Congolese Football Association, FECOFA, have therefore replaced him with Aaron Tshibola, who features for another Scottish club, Kilmarnock.
Hibernian coach David Gray said the entire team are shattered that Bushiri will miss out on the chance to play at the World Cup.
“Everyone is devastated for Rocky, and the timing of this injury couldn’t be worse for him so close to the World Cup,” Gray remarked.
“Rocky has worked so hard for us this season, and he earned himself the opportunity to compete at the World Cup for his performance at both club and international levels.”
