Former international Abdul Sule has recounted how he had to handle the pressure when he was the best paid player in Denmark.
Sule joined Akademisk Boldkub from Herning Fremad for a record nine million Danish krone in 2000 after he finished as top scorer in the league with 25 goals.
“I joined AB as the highest paid player in Denmark then,” the rampaging striker recalled.
“That came with a bit of pressure, so I had to do everything to ensure I did well.
“And I was happy I did.”
The former Stationery Stores star played for AB for five years during which time he could have made another big-money transfer to Greek giants Olympiacos, but the clubs failed to agree a transfer fee.
‘Kana’, who is now chairman of NNL side Kogi United, also played in Qatar and Malaysia before he finally hung up his boots.
He won 10 caps for the Eagles mostly as a right back in the run-up to Nigeria qualifying for the first time to the World Cup in 1994.
