SCORENigeria can exclusively report today that former Sporting Lagos coach Shola Adegun is now in pole position to be appointed by the NFF as the new coach of the Golden Eaglets.
He will replace the long-serving Manu Garba, who failed to qualify the team to this year’s U17 AFCON.
“The former Sporting Lagos coach is the front runner to head the Golden Eaglets,” a top official informed only SCORENigeria
Adegun is a UEFA C licensed coach whose work has spanned several of Nigeria’s top academies – Sporting Lagos, Clique Academy, Barcelona Academy and AS Roma.
He led Sporting Lagos to win the 2024 Gothia Cup in Sweden.
However, his time at NPFL club Plateau United this season was short lived as he was fired with the Jos club fighting against relegation.
