Atletico Madrid are serious about reuniting Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, but the major stumbling block is the huge salary Osimhen commands at Galatasaray.
According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid’s interest in Osimhen is real, but the player’s salary is a significant obstacle.
Osimhen currently earns approximately $15 million per season, an amount considered significantly higher than Atletico Madrid’s internal standards.
The club reportedly refuse to alter its financial structure for a single player and will not exceed the financial limits set by their management.
The main issue is said to be Osimhen’s contract, as he would need to accept a significant reduction in his salary, which is described as very unlikely.
The transfer is therefore described as nearly impossible under the current conditions.
