Pisa SC midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro was one of five Super Eagles players who did not see a minute of action at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Akinsanmiro, 21, made his Super Eagles debut in a pre-AFCON friendly against Egypt in Cairo.
A team source gave SCORENigeria an insight to why the midfielder did not make his AFCON debut in Morocco.
“Ebenezer was good in training, but I believe he did not get to play because he did not win the confidence of the coach (Eric Chelle),” the source said.
“He’s a young player and so he has many years ahead of him.
“I also believe he learnt a lot being around the team at the AFCON.
“The coach is a fair man and once he is fully convinced about the boy, he will play.”
