The drama that saw Victor Osimhen confront fellow Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman during Monday’s 2025 AFCON Round of 16 clash against Mozambique has been handled “internally”, according to the team’s spokesman.
“The primary reasons and aftermath of the on-the-field remonstration between two of our players (Osimhen and Ademola Lookman) during the game against Mozambiquw have been nipped internally. Kindly ignore all reports that suggest otherwise,” read an official statement by Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe.
Osimhen, who threatened to quit the team in the aftermath of the drama, was one of 26 players who trained this evening in Fes.
As reported by SCORENigeria, the Super Eagles will depart Fes Thursday for Marrakesh, where they will face Algeria in the quarterfinal Saturday.
