SCORENigeria can report today that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has arrived in Abuja and will tomorrow morning defend before the NFF technical committee his final squad for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
“The coach has to justify his selection,” an official informed SCORENigeria
The meeting is slated to begin by 8am at the NFF head office in Abuja.
An enlarged preliminary squad for the AFCON has already been submitted to CAF even though the NFF have so far failed to make this public.
CAF have now allowed for teams to name a squad of 27 players for the tournament with these teams to bear the additional costs of the bigger squad.
Nigeria, who were beaten in the final of the delayed 2023 AFCON by host nation Cote d’Ivoire last year, will open their 2025 AFCON campaign on December 23 against Tanzania.
Tunisia and Uganda are the other teams in Group C.
