This past week, Ademola Lookman proved he has regained the form that crowned him the best player in Africa after he followed up his goal and assist in a big Champions League win in Germany by hitting target again for Atalanta in Serie A. He could not have chosen a better time to be back on top of his game with the AFCON now fast approaching.
🚨Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi scored his first goal for Hull City to spur a comeback against Stoke City.

He was also named Man Of the Match!🌟

5.Semi Ajayi
The experienced defender scored his first goal for Hull City and was named Man of the Match when they fought back to win 2-1 at Stoke City in the English Championship. In the absence of captain William Ekong, a lot more would be expected of Semi in the heart of the back-four as the Super Eagles put behind the disappointment of missing out again on the World Cup to gun for continental glory at AFCON beginning later this month.
4.Ahmad Ghali
The former Flying Eagles forward netted twice in the UEFA Conference League for his Czech club SK Sigma Olomouc to beat NK Celije of Slovenia 2-1. He opened scoring after just eight minutes, before he restored his team’s lead just before the break for them to record a valuable win in Europe.
3.Samuel Chukwueze
The tricky winger is steadily finding his groove in the Premier League after he made the opening goal for Fulham in the London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur. It was his first Premier League start and justified this by also bagging the official Man of the Match award. His quality has never been in doubt, but he has to be putting it all together on a more consistent basis. Can he bring his ‘A’ game to the AFCON?
2.Paul Onuachu
It is obvious that the giant striker is again enjoying life back in Turkey after he grabbed a brace for Trabzonspor to beat Konyaspor 3-1 at home in the Super Lig. He is the leading scorer in the Turkish top flight with 11 goals and his goals will ensure his club remain in the title race this season. He has often been regarded as a cheaper version of Victor Osimhen and it will be a major shock if he were not handed another chance to fly with the Super Eagles at the AFCON. He will deliver also for Nigeria if the team play to his aerial prowess.

1.Ademola Lookman
He will certainly be one of the stars to watch at the 2025 AFCON going by the class he has shown this past week after some rather underwhelming displays for both club and country no thanks to a long-drawn transfer saga this past summer. He did not get his wish to quit Atalanta and this certainly got to him. But he has soldiered on that scored a goal and made an assist in a 3-0 Champions League win at German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek. He then followed that up with another goal in a 2-0 home win over Fiorentina in the Serie A to give new coach Raffaele Palladino his first win in the Italian top league. He has made peace with Atalanta, Palladino said he is a key player and that delay a January exit possibly to Turkish giants Galatasaray, who have offered him his biggest-ever pay deal.
