Paul Onuachu is on top form leading up to next month’s CAF 2026 World Cup Playoffs in Morocco as he is the leading scorer in the Turkish Super Lig with seven goals. His goals have made a strong case for a recall to the Super Eagles after his last call-up in March.
5.Geoffrey Chinedu
The striker stole the show after he fired a hat-trick and was named Man of the Match for Astana to smash past Aktobe 5-3 in the Kazakhstan top league. Chinedu, who previously played in China, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia and Albania, famously played against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League last season.

This is one big striker who is on red-hot form. He has fired eight goals in his last nine games for Czech club Viktoria Plzen, failing only to score against Slavia Praha. A target for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, the midfielder is enjoying a rich vein of form in front of goal for Burnley in the Premier League. He scored for the second straight game with a powerful header for his club to shoot down Leeds United this weekend. The France U21 star was simply unplayable in the first half. It was a commanding display in midfield, a kind of performance desperately needed by the Super Eagles.

The giant striker was the most outstanding Nigerian performer across Europe in the week under review. He doubled Trabzonspor lead after 19 minutes with another powerfully headed goal as they went on to win 2-1 at Rizespor. Trabzonspor remain behind Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig standings. Onuachu was in the first squad named by coach Eric Chelle in 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March. Is he not a better option as target man for the Super Eagles than Tolu Arokodare?
As things are , how a game is won depends on the type of players on the field, if ademola lookman had played against Benin republic. Would eagles win by 4 goals ? . I think no . Because he won have drag the defense to the 18 yard , making the opponent defense tight to allow in goals maybe only 2 goals and the eagles will be out of the wcup. But a chueze that use long pass instead was effective for oshimen. .. so if onuchu comes up will he play for oshimen, maybe from the bench ? . Going ahead, eagles only need fast break from the middle to win their games not dragging the opponent to their 18 yard , which automatically make Dem tired wen it is end to a game and making Dem fall to counter attack.
