On Tuesday in Casablanca, the Super Falcons will seek to dethrone Bayana Nayana of South Africa as champions of Africa when they do battle in the semifinal of the 2024 WAFCON.
South Africa had to do it the hard way to reach the semifinal after they beat a gutsy Senegal 4-1 on penalties after scores after extra time were tied at 0-0.
Nigeria, on the other hand, dismantled Zambia 5-0 in their quarterfinal Friday.
The Super Falcons stopped South Africa from featuring at last year’s Paris Olympics in the teams’ last meeting.
The winners between Nigeria and South Africa will tackle the winners of the other semifinal between hosts Morocco and Ghana.
