The 23-year-old midfielder let fly a screamer from outside the box six minutes from full time against Niger Tornadoes for Remo Stars to win their first-ever NPFL championship after finishing as runners-up in the last two seasons.
It was Adebayo’s sixth goal of the campaign.
They have thus achieved an unassailable lead at the top of the standings with three rounds of matches to the end of the 2024/2025 season.
This was a crowning glory for Remo Stars, who four years ago were promoted to the Premier League after shuttling between the NNL and NPFL since 2016.
They will now be the country’s standard bearers in next season’s CAF Champions League after they failed to reach the money-spinning group stage of the competition in the last two attempts.
