Kelechi Iheanacho will stay put at La Liga club Sevilla after a proposed transfer to English Championship front runners Leeds United fell through.
Sources close to the striker told SCORENigeria that Leeds cannot afford his hefty salary even if he were to come over to England on loan.
Iheanacho signed in the summer for Sevilla as a free agent after he did not renew his contract with Leicester City when it ran out.
“He’s on a very good salary and would have loved to return to England, but his huge salary was the main reason he will stay back in Spain for the time being,” a close source informed SCORENigeria
Iheanacho has found it tough going in Spain as he has yet to score in nine appearances.
