Moses Simon scored the only goal for FC Nantes to beat Rennes 1-0 and halt a run that has seen them fail to win in their last four matches.
The Super Eagles winger snatched the winning goal a minute from full time.
He has now netted four goals this season.
Nantes are now 13th in the standings with 14 points from as many matches.
