On Monday, Sportsville9ja reported that a confirmed NFF source disclosed the Frenchman has agreed to take a pay cut to lead the Super Eagles.
Renard representatives had demanded a monthly salary of $180,000 when grilled by the NFF technical committee.
He was one of the coaches initially shortlisted for the top post, but his hefty salary was always going to be major obstacle.
The NFF are yet to announce a new coach for the Super Eagles with about three weeks to a 2025 AFCON qualifier against Benin in Uyo.
