Napoli have agreed a three-year contract for Romelu Lukaku just as Victor Osimhen is kept waiting about his transfer away from the Italian club.
It is now left for Napoli and Lukaku’s club Chelsea to agree a transfer fee, according to Top Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano.
Napoli new coach Antonio Conte has not hidden his admiration for Lukaku after both won the Scudetto at Inter Milan.
Conte has said he has accepted the agreement between Napoli and Osimhen that he could leave this summer.
His assistant, Cristian Stellini, has already spoken about the ideal replacement for Osimhen.
”For Osimhen’s successor, I would choose a striker with a strong physical build, like Victor,” he said.
“And someone who has multiple weapons, such as being able to score goals and improving and supporting teammates in attack.”
Stellini did not mention Romelu Lukaku directly, but it is widely believed he will be the man to replace Osimhen should the Super Eagles striker quit Napoli.
There has not been progress in negotiations between Napoli and PSG on the Osimhen transfer file.
PSG are not ready to pay the striker’s release clause of 130 Million Euros and will not add Korean forward Kang-in Lee in the transaction.
