Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet has also been shortlisted by the technical committee to be appointed the next coach of the Super Eagles.
He is currently coach of The Philippines after an eventful time with The Gambia.
ADVANTAGES: Most of his coaching career has been in Africa, from Zimbabwe to Namibia, Malawi and Togo.
He has always angled for the Super Eagles top coaching post and came close to getting it in 2012, but for the infighting in Nigerian football at the time.
He is a firm believer in the talents that abound in the Super Eagles.
He will also be the most affordable of the three shortlisted candidates.
DISADVANTAGES: He is not the big-name coach that will excite the fans.
And can he command the respect of the players?
Also, can he release himself from his current contract, which he only signed in February?
SCORENigeria RATING: Saintfiet is the viable option to be the new coach of the Super Eagles. He is armed with the conviction that Nigeria have the talents to be one of the top teams not only in Africa, but globally. The team desperately need such a coach at a time that most hope is lost particularly as regards the 2026 World Cup.
