Nigeria’s women U20 team, the Falconets, will renew their rivalry with Germany after both teams were drawn in Group D of this year’s World Cup in Colombia.
The Nigeria U20s lost to their German counterparts in the 2010 and 2014 tournament finals.
The Falconets fell 2-0 in 2010, while they failed to be world champions four years later after the Germans edged past them 1-0.
Asisat Oshoala was named MVP of the 2014 tournament.
Germany and the USA are the most successful teams at this level having won the competition thrice eash.
The Falconets will also face Venezuela and Korea Republic in Colombia.
The World Cup, now expanded to 24 teams with four African flag bearers, will kick off on August 31 to September 22.
