Super Eagles dribbling winger Chidera Ejuke will be a free agent in the summer but will Antwerp have the cash to sign him permanently?
Ejuke’s contract at Russian club CSKA Moscow is up this summer and he could therefore move to another club without a transfer fee.
He has also impressed at defending double Belgian champions after a stuttering start.
The dribbling machine was named Player of the Month for March by his club.
However, Antwerp are battling with their finances of late as Ghelamco, the company of chairman Peter Gheysens, is not doing well and so fresh money is not being pumped into the club.
Ejuke himself is open to staying put at Antwerp.
“Staying in Antwerp is certainly one of the options, I will not say no in advance,” Ejuke told Het Nieuwsblad.
“But to be honest, I’m not concerned with that at all. I’m completely focused on the play-offs. Once those are over, we can start thinking about the future and talking about it.”
The 26-year-old winger has seen his Transfermarkt value rise from 4.5 Million Euros to six Million Euros.
