Former World Cup star Julius Aghahowa has added his voice to the clamour for Super Eagles to appoint a Nigerian head coach, who will succeed if given good working conditions.
Aghahowa, who was Nigeria’s top star at the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan, said the local coach will succeed with the Super Eagles when he is given a long-term contract and he is paid regularly.
The all-action striker said coaches have lost the respect of their players after they have extorted money from them because they are not paid regularly.
Aghahowa further said a Nigerian coach will make the most of the opportunity of leading the Super Eagles should players not be imposed on him.
