Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis scored twice for Club Brugge to record a massive 2-2 draw at Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League tonight.
Club Brugge are now second in their group with two points from as many matches after they were also held to a draw at home by Turkish champions Galatasaray in their opening game.
Super Eagles forward Dennis hit target in the ninth and 39th minutes only for home team Real Madrid to fight back at the break and deny the Belgians a famous win at the Benerbeu.
Dennis, who made his Eagles debut against Ukraine last month, was certainly a handful for the Madrid defence and opened scoring when he broke free and his miscued effort wrong footed goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for the first goal after just nine minutes.
There was also some good fortune when he doubled his team’s lead in the 39th minute as he stumbled on his way to goal, but somehow steadied himself to chip over the onrushing goalkeeper.
He was then denied a hat-trick early in the second half on account of brilliant goalkeeping before he was later replaced in the 71st minute.
Compatriot David Okereke was not listed for the game.
