Sheyi Ojo, who has pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria, has said Rangers will challenge the dominance of perennial champions Celtic for laurels this season in Scotland.
Celtic are top of the standings after seven rounds of matches with 19 points, while Rangers are a point behind.
Ojo, who is on a season long loan from Liverpool, said they
respect Celtic, but they are not intimidated by them.
“We are doing really well so far this season and we are looking hungry,” he said.
“Any team that looks hungry and is getting wins, it can only be positive.
“Of course, we have to give Celtic respect but, from my own opinion, I believe we can have a really successful season.”
The England U20 international has scored four goals in eight UEFA Europa League matches and one goal in the league.
