The coach of OGC Nice has celebrated that Terem Moffi will not feature at the forthcoming AFCON after he was left out of the Super Eagles squad.
Nice coach Francesco Farioli even described the striker as his best “signing” of the transfer window.
Moffi was overlooked by coach Jose Peseiro after he picked Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Kelechi Iheanacho and Sadiq Umar as his strikers for the tournament.
“I have two different feelings (on Moffi’s absence from the AFCON),” the Nice coach said.
“On the one hand, regret because Terem Moffi cared a lot to represent his country, his family and friends.
“But on the other hand, he is our best signing of January (window) and we are happy he is with us.”
Farioli said the striker has put behind him the disappointment of missing out on his first AFCON and he is now very focused for the club.
“He trained with a very positive mindset, with a desire to make himself available to the team.
“We see him very focused and very determined.
“The disappointment is gone and he’s focused on our next match.”
